blockpty only works if what's on it is real — a maker who actually made the thing, a farm that's actually open that weekend, a photo of the shop you'll actually find on that corner. These are the short, human rules that keep it that way. The enforcement and legal detail sits in our Terms of Service.
1.What we're here for
Local creators, the places they work, and the events around them. Bring something specific to your block: a workshop, a market stall, a new menu, a photograph of the shopfront.
Write like a neighbour, not an advert. One clear sentence about what you make and where people find you beats a wall of superlatives.
2.Keep it true and current
List things that exist and are actually happening. Update or unpublish a listing when hours, prices, dates or a location change — an event that's already over shouldn't still be sitting on the site.
No duplicates. One creator page per maker, one listing per business. If you spot the same place twice, tell us and we'll merge them.
Say what it is. A pop-up that's by invitation only, a farm that's cash only, a class that's ages 8+ — that's the useful detail, not a reason to leave it out.
3.Only post what's yours
Photos and posts should be yours or used with permission. Don't lift another maker's product shot, a photographer's image, or someone else's Instagram post and pass it off as your own.
Instagram and Etsy are checked before they can feature anything: a creator proves the handle is theirs before posts appear, and only their own approved links are shown. If you change your handle or shop, the verified mark comes off until it's checked again.
Credit the source when you're allowed to use someone else's photo, and don't post a person's picture without their say-so.
4.Not welcome
Fake, duplicate or misleading listings; invented reviews; bought follows; events that don't exist or that collect details for no reason.
Harassment, personal attacks, hate speech, or anything aimed at a person rather than their work.
Spam and sales blasts: promotion of your own work on your own page is fine, dropping links across other people's pages isn't.
Goods that are illegal to sell, and the items our admins restrict — weapons, alcohol or tobacco to minors, unlicensed food, medical claims, other people's personal data.
Anything that puts a member's safety or privacy at risk, including sharing someone's home address or phone number without their consent.
5.See something off? Tell us
Email hello@blockpty.com with a link to the listing, event or page and a line about what's wrong. Use the subject line 'Report' so it's easy to spot. If it's your own work being copied, say so — those go to the front.
An admin looks at every report. We'll remove, edit or leave what we find, and where we can reach the person who posted it we'll tell them what changed and why.
Reports are handled by the people who run the site, not an automated filter, so a false report doesn't quietly sink a page — but knowingly false reports cost you standing here.
6.What happens when rules are broken
A first slip is usually a quiet fix: a note, an edit, a listing hidden until it's corrected. Repeated or serious breaches mean submissions paused, creator pages unpublished, or an account closed.
Think a decision was wrong? Reply to the email or write to hello@blockpty.com and a different admin will look at it.
