These terms cover your use of blockpty — this website, our pages and anything we run under the blockpty name. By browsing, joining or posting here you agree to them. Behaviour rules are spelled out in our Community Guidelines, and how we handle your information is in our Privacy Policy.
1.Using the site
blockpty is free to browse without an account. To follow creators, save finds, join groups or post, you need an account with a working email address, and you have to confirm that address before your account goes live.
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms.
Do not share your password or give access to your account to another person. If you think there has been unauthorized access to your account, contact us at hello@blockpty.com.
2.What blockpty is — and isn't
blockpty is a directory. We list local creators, shops, restaurants, events and day plans so you can find them, and we send you to the source to buy, book or visit.
We don't sell the goods, run the events, employ the businesses or take payment for what's listed. A listing here is a pointer, not a contract with us.
Listings, events and places added by members or creators are reviewed by a blockpty admin before they appear on the site. Approval isn't guaranteed, and we don't promise a particular placement or amount of attention.
3.What you post stays yours
You keep ownership of the photos, text and links you add. You're only posting what you made, or what you have permission to post — that includes posts or shop pages on third-party websites such as Instagram, Etsy, and others.
By posting, you give blockpty permission to display it on the site and in the little preview cards that show up when a page is shared. That permission ends when you delete the post or your account.
Tell us at hello@blockpty.com if you believe something on the site infringes your rights, and include a link to it so we can find it.
4.Don't
No spam, fake or duplicate listings, or invented reviews. No posting other people's photos, posts or shop pages as your own. No impersonating a creator, business or person.
No interfering with the site or other members' accounts, no automated harvesting of listings or contact details, and no trying to break in or pick up someone else's data.
No goods that are illegal to sell where you are, and no items our admins restrict — weapons, alcohol or tobacco to minors, unlicensed food, medical or health claims, personal data. If you're unsure, ask before you list.
5.Businesses, events and links we didn't create
Most of what's on the site belongs to someone else: a shop's hours, a farm's ticket price, a library's event, a brewery's festival. That information comes from the business itself, from city and county calendars, or from a member, and it changes without warning.
Confirm the details — price, time, whether you need a ticket — with the business or venue before you go. blockpty isn't responsible for a cancelled event, a sold-out farm stand, a wrong number, or anything that happens once you've left our pages.
Content shown from third-party websites — such as Instagram posts on a creator page or Etsy products — belongs to and is served by those sites; photos of places come from licensed sources and carry a credit where required. Those websites have their own terms and their own handling of your data.
6.The plain-legal part
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We aim for it to work and to stay accurate, but we make no promises that it always will, that listings are complete, or that any particular thing will be listed.
Where the law allows, blockpty isn't liable for indirect or incidental losses, or for what third parties do or don't do. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you've paid us, and using the site is free.
7.Removing things, suspending accounts
We can edit, hide or remove a listing, event, post or photo, and we can limit or close an account, when it breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines, when it's reported, or when we have to for legal reasons. Where we can reach you, we'll tell you what we removed and why, and you can reply to hello@blockpty.com to ask us to look again.
You can stop using the site any time and ask us to delete your account and its data by emailing hello@blockpty.com. Some records are kept where we need them for safety, legal or audit reasons.
8.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed; keeping on using the site after that means you accept the current version.
9.Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Minnesota, USA, and disputes go to the courts there — small-claims court included, where it fits.
