This is what blockpty knows about you, why we keep it, and how to have it corrected or removed. We've written it against what the site actually does rather than what a generic policy says, so if you only read one line: email hello@blockpty.com and we'll tell you what we hold and delete your account when you ask. The rules for using the site are in our Terms of Service, and what we expect of members and creators is in our Community Guidelines.
1.What we collect
Account details: your email address and a protected password. Your email is verified before your account goes live, and we check new passwords against lists of known breached ones so a stolen password won't be accepted here.
Profile details you choose to add: display name, username (the address people use to reach your page), profile photo, bio, contact links, and — if you're a creator — what you make and where you work.
Location preference: the city, suburb area or 'everywhere' you pick so the home page and Explore show what's near you. We ask for a city, never a street address, and we don't track where your device actually is.
What you do here: creators you follow, things you save, day plans you keep, groups you join, listings and events you submit, and anything you report.
A little technical information: browser and device type, and a signed-in session so you aren't asked for your password on every visit.
2.What we don't collect
No card or bank details — blockpty doesn't take payment, so there's nothing of that kind to store.
No precise location, no contacts list, no photo-roll access, and no readable copy of your password: it's protected in a one-way form, which is why we can send a reset link but can't tell you your password.
No advertising profiles, and no selling or renting your information to anyone.
3.Why we keep it
To show you the right things: local creators, places and events for the area you chose, and to keep your saves and plans available when you come back.
To run the site safely: confirm emails, catch bots at signup, block breached passwords, and let admins review submissions before they go public.
To reach you when it's needed: the confirmation email, a password reset, a reply when you report something, and a note when a listing you submitted is approved or declined.
4.What other people can see
Creator pages and approved listings, events and places are public — search engines can find them.
Your display name can appear as the person who submitted a place or event once it's approved, and your public profile shows your display name, photo and what you've chosen to share.
Follower and member counts are visible; who follows whom is only visible in the places we show it, such as a group's member list.
Don't put anything in a bio or submission you wouldn't want a stranger to read.
5.Who else touches your data
A small set of services runs underneath the site: hosting and database, email delivery, the sign-in system, the human check on signup, and the source of place photography. They process data on our behalf under their own policies.
Content shown from third-party websites — such as Instagram posts on a creator page or products from an Etsy shop — loads from those sites, so each one can see the visit and set its own cookies under its own policy. Signing in with Google shares the basics Google passes back — name, email, photo.
We'll disclose information if we're legally required to, or to protect someone's safety or rights.
6.Cookies and browser storage
We store a sign-in session and your preferences in your browser so the site remembers you and your location choice. Nothing here follows you around the web building an advertising profile.
7.Your choices
You can correct or remove most of it yourself from Profile and Edit creator page — change your name, photo, links, location preference, unpublish a post, unsave an item, delete a plan.
To see everything we hold, correct something, or delete your account and its data, email hello@blockpty.com from the address on the account. We'll confirm with you before deleting, and it can take a few days to clear everything out.
Deleting your account removes your profile, follows, saves and plans. Approved listings you submitted stay up as community content unless you ask us to take them down too.
8.How we protect it
Email confirmation, password protection, a bot check on signup, and access limited to the people who need it to run and moderate the site. No system is perfect, so tell us at hello@blockpty.com if you think something has gone wrong.
9.Kids
blockpty isn't for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us details, email hello@blockpty.com and we'll remove them.
10.Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new version lives at this address.
